What Skin Type Are You?

Taking care of your skin is not as easy as just picking the product you wanted for your skin. You may have all the means to buy the most expensive skin care products to beautify your skin, but if the product isn’t right for your skin type, it won’t be as effective & could probably irritate/harm your skin.
Understanding your skin type is the most important step in caring for your skin.
DO YOU KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE?
We have 5 main skin types:
Normal Skin Type
Dry Skin Type
Oily Skin Type
Combination Skin Type
Sensitive Skin Type
NORMAL SKIN TYPE
Best described as a skin type with “no major problems”. It is neither dry nor oily, but more likely to have blemishes, occasional dryness or oiliness. People with normal skin type usually feature small pores that are not engorged or easily visible. This skin type does not produce excess shine & does not tend to be cracked or flaky.
DRY SKIN TYPE
On the other hand if you start to see scaly patches or flakes on your skin then you probably have a dry skin type. Good news is you almost have invisible pores. Bad News, you are prone to suffering from premature wrinkles & skin irritation. Dry skin type produces less sebum. As a result of the lack of sebum, dry skin lacks the lipids that it needs to retain moisture and build a protective shield against external influences.
OILY SKIN TYPE
Shiny or greasy appearance is often caused by having an oily skin type. If you are one of those who belong to this skin type then you are definitely prone to having clogged & enlarged pores including, blackheads, pimples & other types of acne not just on your face, but also on other areas such as your chest & back.
COMBINATION SKIN TYPE
From its name “Combination” meaning your skin features 2 or more skin types. It can be dry & on some part oily on some, such as the T- zone (nose, forehead, & chin) The most common skin type, but hard to identify & treat.
SENSITIVE SKIN TYPE
Basically, this skin type may include all of the above mentioned. This skin type is normally prone to redness & irritation. Sensitive skin type is normally diagnosed with skin reactions such as pustules, skin bumps, or skin erosion & a tendency toward blushing and skin flushing.
